Get ready for a serious night of West Coast blues as the
Daniel Castro Band takes over the Marquee Club.
Daniel Castro is a Bay Area blues favorite known for soulful vocals, fiery guitar work, deep grooves,
and the kind of live performance that can move from slow-burning and emotional to full-throttle in a matter of seconds.
Raised in the Los Angeles area, Castro grew up absorbing the music of blues giants
B.B. King, Albert King and Albert Collins. He cut his teeth in South Central L.A.
blues clubs before working with musicians connected to the legendary Johnny Otis scene and later
touring and recording with artists including Ronnie Lane of the Small Faces.
After moving to the San Francisco Bay Area, Castro developed a reputation as one of the region’s standout
blues guitarists and bandleaders. His sound combines old-school blues feel with original material,
expressive vocals, tight arrangements and a powerful stage presence.
Guitar Player Magazine praised Castro for bringing
taste, tone and technique to the classic West Coast blues tradition, while blues great
Elvin Bishop has called him the “real deal.”
You’ll experience the band the way blues is meant to be heard:
up close, in the beautiful Empress Theatre, with dinner, drinks and a full night of live music.
Come early to the Marquee Club, grab a table, order dinner and settle in before Daniel Castro and the band hit the stage at
8 PM.
