Event Info

Brenda Holloway Johnson, a San Francisco native, has been the lead vocalist of San Francisco Bay Area Motown sound band “Pride & Joy” for 35 years. Looking back, her introduction to singing as with many seasoned vocalist began during her teen years in the church. It was during Brenda’s Freshman year in college at San Francisco State that she began singing with the Pride & Joy Band and to this day, three decades later, she still maintains a following that packs the venue where ever they perform. Though Brenda’s performances with Pride & Joy can take her anywhere throughout the Bay Area and the extended Bay Area, recently during 2015/2016 the locals in the Benicia/Vallejo area have had the privilege of being Brenda’s audience at her unforgettable performances at the Union Hotel, the First Street Cafe, the Empress Theater and Vino Godfather Tasting Room (Mare Island)Vallejo. Brenda’s charity involvement has placed her twice performing at one of the Bay Areas favorite jazz spots Yoshi’s, in Oakland’s Jack London Square for the Music Medicine Benefit Concert 2015 & 2016. She has also been an invited Special Guest performer at Lt. Gavin Newsome’s San Francisco Business Forum Luncheon. Brenda is continuously adding new material to her performances that highlights her incredible vocal range and soulful delivery. Brenda’s performances include a variety of Pop, classic R&B, incredible dance tunes, funky Jazz and some soulful Ballads. Whenever the opportunity makes itself available to enjoy the dynamic sounds of Brenda Holloway Johnson, plan on a spectacular performance of live music that you don’t want to miss.
