Event Info

The Empress Theatre will host The Seventh Art Stand on Thursday, May 11th. This nationwide screening and discussion series is being presented by 50 theaters, art museums, and community centers across the US, as an act of cinematic solidarity against Islamophobia. We will be showing three short films from the Arab Film Festival:

  • Bahia & Mahmoud (Jordan, 2011)
  • Café Regular (Egypt, 2012)
  • Mariam (France, 2016)

The films will be introduced by festival director Serge Bakalian. An audience discussion will follow the screenings with Mr. Bakalian and members of the Islamic Center of Vallejo-Benicia.
