Town-hall style meeting with with C.J. Anderson about the Dreams Never Die Foundation and their plans for a state-of-the-art sports and academic facility on Mare Island that caters to Vallejo’s youth.
The goal to have the Mare Island endeavor complete is 2023 and will be built from the ground up.
The Dreams Never Die Foundation’s mission is to provide inner city and low-income youth with the resources needed to persevere and ultimately reach their maximum potential in academics and/or athletics. We strive to give the youth a sense of belonging and inspiration, no matter the circumstances they may face.
Aside from the future facility, Anderson will discuss upcoming foundation events such as a trip to Harvard, a Sphero Robotics Workshop, and field trips to the Exploratorium, Google, and Linkedn.
About C.J. Anderson
Super Bowl Champion, CJ Anderson, was born in Concord, California on February 10, 1991, and raised in Vallejo, CA. During his prep career at Jesse M. Bethel High School, CJ accumulated nearly 4,000 rushing yards and led his team to four consecutive playoff appearances. He would begin his college football career in 2009 at Laney College in Oakland, CA and go on to play at University of California – Berkeley as a junior in 2011.
In 2013, CJ signed with the Denver Broncos as an undrafted free agent. Since joining the Broncos, CJ has earned his first Pro Bowl selection in 2015 and has played in two Super Bowl games, ultimately becoming a Super Bowl Champion for the first-time with the team’s win over the Carolina Panthers in Super Bowl 50. CJ attributes his success to his family’s support and being involved in sports, which kept him out of trouble in the streets.
