The San Francisco International Piano Festival returns to the Empress by popular demand after last season’s thrilling debut concerts. Now in its 3rd season, the Festival has quickly become one of the most exciting and engaging musical events in the Bay Area and has attracted international attention through its world class artists, unique programming, and friendly rapport between performers and audience. Two nights of musical magic – all are welcome!
Founder and Artistic Director Jeffrey LaDeur will open the program with one of Liszt’s most beautiful and atmospheric pieces before joining pianist Albert Kim in Schubert’s joyous Variations in A-Flat D. 813. Eunmi Ko created a sensation during last year’s festival and returns to perform enchanting music of the cosmos: George Crumb’s Makrokosmos Book II (selections) and David Liptak’s complete Constellations.
