Walnut Creek Jazz Band featuring Joyce Grant, an exciting evening of
big band swing, jazz, blues, R&B, soul, and classic American songbook favorites.
Joyce Grant is one of the Bay Area’s most beloved vocalists, known for her
rich tone, warm stage presence, and deep musical storytelling. Often described as having
a voice like “dark honey,” Joyce brings elegance, soul, humor, and heart to
every song she sings.
A remarkable musical connection:
Joyce is the great-great-niece of ragtime legend Scott Joplin, carrying a
powerful link to American music history into every performance.
Behind her is the mighty Walnut Creek Jazz Band, an 18-piece jazz orchestra
led by Jeffrey Mark Paull, founding member, Executive Director, and lead alto
saxophonist. Expect rich horn sections, swinging rhythms, beautiful solos, and the thrilling
live energy that only a real big band can deliver.
