Start the week with dinner, drinks, and three hours of live jazz at the Empress Marquee Club.
The Monday Jazz Jam brings Bay Area musicians, students, and jazz fans together for a night of spontaneous music. Expect standards, bebop, blues, swing, ballads, Latin grooves, and the unexpected moments that only happen in a real jam session.
This week's host band is led by Erik Von Buchau on drums and vibes, with Ben Flint on piano and Ollie Dudek on bass.
Erik brings energy, experience, and range to the bandstand, moving between drums and vibes while guiding the session through straight-ahead jazz, blues, Latin rhythms, and creative musical conversations.
Ben Flint brings taste, swing, and deep musicality to the Steinway grand. Ollie Dudek holds down the low end with warm tone, strong time, and the flexibility to move from hard-driving swing to ballads and blues.
